How can we help?
In the app, open Settings → Send feedback, or email [email protected]. Include the version from Settings → About & sources, your device model and what happened. Do not send passwords or payment information.
Lessons
The course starts with hiragana and katakana, then goes through N5 and N4. Tap "Start today's session" on Today: it brings back the reviews that are due, then your next new lesson. Each lesson mixes cards, listening, quick quizzes, dictation and building sentences from tiles. Each unit ends with a short reading or dialogue: listen first, then tap "Show the text". A unit opens when the one before it is finished; finish every part of a unit to earn its stamp.
Review and practice
Every kana, word, kanji and grammar point you meet comes back for review right before you would forget it. A wrong answer brings it back sooner. The Review tab shows how many are due and which ones. Below it, Practice lets you drill look-alike kana, verb and adjective forms, and prices, times, dates and counters by ear, as often as you like. Each practice opens once you reach the unit that teaches it.
Kanji stories and Discover
Every kanji card draws the character stroke by stroke and tells a short memory story: a picture, how it was formed and its parts. The Discover tab has short guides with a quiz each (how Japanese works, survival phrases, sounds, polite levels, the JLPT levels, kanji basics and life in Japan, plus Hán Việt guides for Vietnamese speakers), the kanji story book and a library of everything in the course.
Writing practice
In the Write tab, pick a character and draw each stroke in order. A miss shows a hint; two misses show the guide. Under the canvas you see the reading or meaning, the stroke count and words that use the character.
Sensei
On devices with Apple Intelligence turned on, Sensei explains answers in simple words. It runs on your device and only rephrases the app's own explanations. Every lesson works without it; you can turn it off in Settings.
Sound
Words are spoken by your device's Japanese voice. If you hear nothing, check Settings → Sound and your device volume. For a better voice, add a Japanese voice in your device's Accessibility → Spoken Content settings.
Ads and Remove Ads
Lessons are free. A full-screen ad may appear when you tap "Back to Today" after a finished lesson, never inside a lesson, never after a practice or a guide, and not in your first few lessons. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland the app shows no ads. Settings → Purchases → Remove Ads is a one-time purchase that turns ads off.
Restore purchases and codes
Bought Remove Ads on another device or after reinstalling? Open Settings → Purchases → Restore purchases, signed in with the same Apple ID. Got a code from Patcell? Use Redeem a code in the same place.
Saved progress
Your progress, review schedule, stamps and settings are saved on this device only; there is no account. Deleting the app removes them. See the privacy policy.
Word lists
Word and kanji data come from JMdict and KANJIDIC2 (EDRDG) and stroke data from KanjiVG. The lists by level were put together by Patcell for learning; they are not an official JLPT list.

Bài học
Khoá học bắt đầu với hiragana và katakana, sau đó đi qua N5 và N4. Bấm "Bắt đầu buổi học hôm nay" ở tab Hôm nay: app đưa các mục cần ôn trước, rồi đến bài mới tiếp theo. Mỗi bài có thẻ, nghe, câu hỏi nhanh, nghe chép và ghép câu từ các ô chữ. Cuối mỗi bài có một bài đọc hoặc hội thoại ngắn: nghe trước, rồi bấm "Hiện chữ". Bài sau mở khi bài trước xong; học hết các phần của một bài để nhận con dấu của bài đó.
Ôn tập và luyện tập
Mỗi chữ kana, từ, kanji và điểm ngữ pháp đã học sẽ quay lại để ôn ngay trước lúc bạn sắp quên. Trả lời sai thì mục đó quay lại sớm hơn. Tab Ôn tập cho biết có bao nhiêu mục cần ôn và đó là những mục nào. Bên dưới, phần Luyện tập cho bạn luyện các chữ kana dễ nhầm, cách chia động từ và tính từ, và nghe giá tiền, giờ, ngày tháng, số đếm, luyện bao nhiêu tuỳ thích. Mỗi phần luyện tập mở khi bạn học tới bài dạy nội dung đó.
Chuyện kanji và Khám phá
Mỗi thẻ kanji tự vẽ chữ từng nét và kể một câu chuyện ngắn để nhớ: hình ảnh, cách chữ được tạo ra và các bộ phận. Tab Khám phá có các bài hướng dẫn ngắn, mỗi bài kèm câu đố (tiếng Nhật hoạt động thế nào, câu cần dùng ngay, âm, mức độ lịch sự, các cấp JLPT, kanji cơ bản và đời sống ở Nhật, cùng các bài Hán Việt cho người Việt), sách chuyện kanji và thư viện mọi nội dung trong khoá học.
Tập viết
Ở tab Luyện viết, chọn một chữ rồi viết từng nét theo thứ tự. Sai một lần sẽ có gợi ý; sai hai lần sẽ hiện nét mẫu. Dưới khung viết có cách đọc hoặc nghĩa, số nét và các từ có chữ đó.
Sensei
Trên máy có bật Apple Intelligence, Sensei giải thích đáp án bằng lời đơn giản. Sensei chạy ngay trên máy và chỉ diễn đạt lại phần giải thích có sẵn trong app. Mọi bài học đều dùng được khi không có Sensei; bạn có thể tắt trong Cài đặt.
Âm thanh
Từ được đọc bằng giọng tiếng Nhật của máy. Nếu không nghe thấy, kiểm tra Cài đặt → Âm thanh và âm lượng máy. Muốn giọng hay hơn, thêm giọng tiếng Nhật trong Cài đặt máy → Trợ năng → Nội dung được đọc.
Quảng cáo và Bỏ quảng cáo
Bài học miễn phí. Quảng cáo toàn màn hình có thể hiện khi bạn bấm "Về Hôm nay" sau khi học xong một bài, không bao giờ hiện giữa bài hay sau phần luyện tập hoặc bài hướng dẫn, và không hiện trong vài bài đầu. Ở EEA, Anh và Thuỵ Sĩ app không hiện quảng cáo. Cài đặt → Mua hàng → Bỏ quảng cáo là gói mua một lần để tắt quảng cáo.
Khôi phục giao dịch và mã
Đã mua Bỏ quảng cáo trên máy khác hoặc vừa cài lại app? Mở Cài đặt → Mua hàng → Khôi phục giao dịch, đăng nhập cùng Apple ID. Có mã từ Patcell? Dùng mục Nhập mã quà tặng ở cùng chỗ.
Dữ liệu đã lưu
Tiến độ, lịch ôn, con dấu và cài đặt chỉ lưu trên máy này; app không có tài khoản. Xoá app sẽ xoá chúng. Xem chính sách quyền riêng tư.
Danh sách từ
Dữ liệu từ và kanji lấy từ JMdict và KANJIDIC2 (EDRDG), dữ liệu nét viết từ KanjiVG. Danh sách theo cấp độ do Patcell biên soạn để học, không phải danh sách chính thức của kỳ thi JLPT.
