Echo Gap is a number puzzle game for all ages made by PATCELL SOFTWARE COMPANY LIMITED (“Patcell”). This policy describes what the game does with information. It applies to Echo Gap only; other Patcell apps have their own policies.
Summary
You can play Echo Gap without any account; your game progress is kept on your device. If you choose, you can back up progress with Game Center (iPhone), Google Play Games (Android) or an Echo Gap email account. Patcell does not sell personal information and does not use analytics or tracking of its own. The mobile game shows ads through Google AdMob; those ads are non-personalized and limited to content suitable for all ages, as described below. Version 1.1 has no in-app purchases.
Data on your device
To work, the game saves on your device: best scores (Classic and Wide), today's Daily challenge best, play statistics (runs played, echoes, longest chain, stones broken), settings (sound, music, haptics, reduce motion, language), whether you completed the tutorial, and your unfinished run so you can continue later. This information stays on your device; Patcell cannot access it.
Settings → Clear data on this device deletes all of it. Uninstalling the game also removes it. Your device's own backup service may keep or restore app data according to your Apple or Google backup settings.
Optional progress backup
What is backed up: only your best scores (Classic and Wide); Wide mode unlocks again from your Classic best. Statistics, the Daily challenge, settings, language and an unfinished run stay on your device and are never backed up. Copies are combined by keeping the higher score, so nothing is lost when you play on several devices.
Game Center (iPhone) and Google Play Games (Android): after the age question (13+), if you are signed in to Game Center or Google Play Games, the game submits your best scores to the Echo Gap leaderboards and reads them back to restore them on another device. Apple or Google show those scores with your player name to other players according to your Game Center / Play Games privacy settings. Apple and Google provide these services under their own terms and privacy policies; Patcell's servers do not receive this data, and leaderboard entries are managed through your Apple or Google account.
Email account (optional): if you create an Echo Gap account with your email address and a password, Google Firebase Authentication (operated by Google for Patcell) stores your email address, a securely hashed password, an account ID, account creation and sign-in times, and processes your IP address for security and abuse prevention. Firebase sends the verification and password-reset emails. Your best scores are stored in Google Cloud Firestore in the United States, linked to your account ID. We use this data only to sign you in, keep your account secure and restore your best scores; it is never used for advertising. Sign-in is not needed to play.
Delete your account: in the app, open Settings → Account & sync → Delete account and confirm with your password. This deletes your email account and its best scores from Firebase immediately (Google may keep encrypted backups for a limited period under its own retention). Advertising and privacy choices
The mobile game uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) and Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). A full-screen ad may appear after a finished run, at most once every two runs and never during play; you can also choose to watch a rewarded ad to continue a run. If no ad is available, the game continues normally. Development and test builds use Google's sample ads.
Every ad request asks for non-personalized ads, is tagged for child-directed treatment and for users under the age of consent, and is limited to a General (G) content rating. The game does not ask for Apple's tracking permission, and the Android app removes the advertising ID and AdServices permissions. Google's SDK may still process network information such as IP address (and approximate location derived from it), app and device information, ad views and interactions, and diagnostic data to deliver and measure ads, maintain the service and prevent fraud. Where Google's consent service requires it (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), a consent message appears and Settings shows Privacy choices so you can change your choice at any time. Permissions and children
The game does not request access to your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or location, and it does not ask for a name. Gameplay never asks for age. Before the optional sign-in options (Game Center, Google Play Games, email account) are shown, the game asks a neutral year-of-birth question; they are offered only to players aged 13 or over. Only the yes/no result is kept on the device: the year of birth is not stored or sent anywhere. Under 13, no sign-in service is started and best scores stay on the device. An email address is collected only if a player chooses to create the optional email account; the game is designed so that it can be fully enjoyed without one. A parent or guardian who believes a child created an account can delete it in the app or contact us to have it deleted.
Future versions
If a later version changes how data is processed (for example an in-app purchase to remove ads), we will update this page, the date above and the store privacy disclosures before that version is released.
