Echo Gap · Meet the game
Meet Echo Gap: the space between the numbers changes everything
Two matching numbers. One exact distance. Discover how a single drop can set off a chain in Patcell’s neon puzzle for iPhone, iPad and Android.

You have a three in your hand and another three on the board. The obvious instinct is to bring them together.
What if the clever move is to leave some space?
In Echo Gap, distance is the puzzle. Drop numbered tiles, line up matching values at exactly the right interval, and watch what happens when they disappear. A gap opens. Tiles fall. Another pair lines up. Suddenly, that one placement has changed the whole board.
Created by Patcell, Echo Gap turns a small rule into a game of observation, timing and possibilities. Its glowing numbers and deep navy backdrop give the board a distinctive identity; the interesting part is learning to see the next connection before it forms.
Available for iPhone and iPad on the App Store, and Android on Google Play in supported regions. Free to play with ads and an optional one-time Remove Ads purchase.
A familiar number, an unexpected connection
The tiles carry numbers from two to five. Two equal numbers echo and disappear when they sit exactly that many cells apart in the same row or column. A pair of threes needs a distance of three cell positions; a pair of fours needs four.
That changes how you read the grid. A tile on the other side of the board may be a useful partner. An apparently awkward opening may be just the space your next number needs. The question becomes: where can this tile land, and what will it reach?
Echo lines preview the landing and possible connections, helping you learn the rule directly on the board. You can start with one clear match and gradually look further ahead.

Your best move might be the one after this one
A match clears tiles, but its consequences keep moving. Gravity changes the arrangement, creating new distances between the remaining numbers. A successful follow-up can extend the chain and multiply your score.
Try looking at a possible clear in two stages. First, find the pair that can disappear. Then imagine where the tiles above it will land. Will a second pair line up? Will the new opening give you a useful place for the next drop?
This is where a simple rule starts producing interesting decisions. A small immediate clear can be valuable. Leaving a useful tile in place may also help you prepare something larger. Each board asks you to weigh the room you need now against the chain you hope to create next.
The board has plans of its own
You cannot build forever without responding to the pressure. New rows push the board upward, and the pressure increases as a run progresses. Making space becomes part of your strategy.
Later, stones complicate the layout. Catching them inside an echo gives you a way to break through. Resonance powers—Hammer, Tremor and Hush—add further options when a run becomes difficult, while Second Wind can save you once per run.
The result is a shifting problem: plan a connection, make room, and adapt when the board changes. A promising setup is useful only if you leave yourself enough space to finish it.
Three ways to chase the next chain
Classic starts with a seven-by-nine board. It is the place to learn the rhythm of the drops, practise recognising distances and work towards a better score.
Reach a best Classic score of 5,000 points and you unlock Wide, an eight-by-eleven board with more room for possibilities. The larger mode is earned through play.
Daily Challenge offers the same sequence for everyone that day. Return to a shared starting challenge and see what you can make of it. Leaderboards are available through Game Center on Apple devices and Google Play Games on Android.

Easy to pick up, room to make it yours

See what one well-placed number can do
Echo Gap is another part of Patcell’s growing game collection: a focused idea, a recognisable visual style and several ways to explore its possibilities. If Sen Journey invited you to follow a clue through a quiet countryside, Echo Gap invites you to notice a connection hiding in a grid.
Start with one number. Find its partner. Count the distance.
Then look at what might fall into place next.
